Need a great summertime sangria?

As the self proclaimed king of sangria here is the recipe for BarBop's sangria classic.

(1) 1.5 Liter bottle of a spicy merlot
250 Ml of spice rum
1 Lemon
2 Oranges
3 Pears
1/8 Cup of Simple syrup

Step 1
Make simple syrup by heating up 1/8 cup of water and 1/8 cup of sugar, until all dissolved. Add to your large container.

Step 2
Cut the lemon into thin circular wheels. Add to large container.

Step 3
Cut the Peels off of the 2 oranges and cut into small bite size squares. Add to container.

Step 4
Cut the Peels off your pears and cut into small bite size squares. Add to container

Step 5
Add all of merlot and spice rum to container. (Personally, I like sailor Jerry cherry rum). Take a large utensil and lightly bruise the fruits releasing those yummy juices. Give it a little bit of a stir. Let this mixture chill for 2 days.

Step 6
Serve on a hot day. The fruit is yummy and it tastes oh so yummy.

Best I can remember when I designed this recipe. This makes you about 10-12 servings. Each serving equates to less than 1 ounce of the spiced rum if your worried about the strength. We get a lot of compliments on this one, but let us know how you like it. Keep in mind, this stuff will not colorful when serving, so try our sangria summertime if your looking for a colorful version.
